Appointments

Emily's initial appointment with an individual or family is generally 75 minutes long, and is considered an "intake". This appointment is to gather the poignant information on current functioning and background information , as well as allow the client to get to know Emily. Appointments then after are usually 50-60 minutes in length. Emily attempts to start appointments on the hour. If an appointment begins a few minutes late, she will be sure the client receives a fifty minute session without encroaching on the next client's time. Normally sessions are weekly; however, dependent upon the need of the client, sessions can be scheduled more or less frequently.

Insurance & Fees

Emily is considered to be a 'private pay therapist'. This means that she does not file with insurance companies. Emily will be able to provide you with a receipt including the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance provider for out of network reimbursement. You will have to contact your insurance company to find out what your benefits are. If you do choose to file on your own, please be aware that the insurance company may require me to disclose confidential information, as well as provide a diagnosis to have on file, which may potentially remain in your insurance file. Whether you decide to file for out of network reimbursement or not, Emily does require payment at time of service in the form of credit card, cash or personal check.

Please contact Emily for a fee schedule.  She does have a sliding scale, which may be used if needed.  She attempts to make therapy as affordable as possible.

Cancellations

Emily requires notice of cancellation 24 hours in advance. She often have a waiting list and need time to contact waiting parties. 24 hour notice is the standard notification period in the profession. Half of the  fee is required if notice is not received for the first missed appointment, the full fee is required for all other missed appointment . There are exceptions for emergencies.
